This position is located in the Small Molecule Research (SMR) – Strategy & Operations group within the Therapeutic Modalities global function, where the portfolio management, external operations and business operations is of primary focus.
We are offering an outstanding opportunity for a Program Manager in Small Molecule Research. You will work with multidisciplinary teams of scientists and leadership teams across pRED to jointly manage and shape our future portfolio of internal and external drug discovery projects and technology platforms.
Play a key role in building, shaping and strategically coordinating the small molecule portfolio together with the Strategy & Operations group, Therapeutic Modalities and all respective pRED functions and colleagues.
Lead a continuous active dialogue with technical project leaders, project teams, technical functions and Disease Therapeutic Areas to align project needs and plans with capabilities and resource priorities within Therapeutic Modalities.
Contribute to portfolio governance meetings for aligning on project strategies and their implementation within the organisation.
Act as a central character of external collaborations by shaping and coordinating the interaction with focus on scientific operations.
Nurture trustful relationships and effective collaboration within Therapeutic Modalities and at the interface with internal and external partners.
Develop and support strategic initiatives and operative tasks across the organisation.
You thrive in a dynamic, inclusive environment which gives you full accountability and independence for your own contributions and development. You bring professional drug discovery experience (5y+), which optimally encompasses both portfolio or program management and preclinical project science preferably in one of pREDs therapeutic areas. This allows you to engage with drug discovery project teams, with an emphasis on program and portfolio coordination. You easily connect with colleagues and have a keen interest in continuously building a personal network. You are resourceful and flexible in problem-solving and enjoy working in a collaborative and inclusive manner. You have a sense fr ensuring that everyone has the required information at all times. You are used to working in a matrix environment across geographical sites and you have strong oral and written communication skills and you are proficient in preparing and running effective meetings.
