A&M’s Tax practice is made up of experienced international tax law professionals dedicated to providing customized tax advice to clients and investors across a broad range of industries. Since inception, the global tax team at A&M has enjoyed exponential growth. Our team has grown to over 1200 professionals across the globe, and we are now looking to further continue this growth in Switzerland. Our tax practice offers the opportunity to work without audit conflict and truly act as a trusted business advisor to our clients.

A&M’s Switzerland Tax Team takes a truly holistic approach to the market, offering expertise across a diverse range of services – from Global Transaction Tax (GTT) to Global Minimum Tax (GMT), Indirect Tax, Private Equity Funds Tax Compliance, People Services, Corporate Tax and Tax Compliance Services, Operating Model Optimization and Transfer Pricing.

To further grow and strengthen our team, we are seeking talents fit for the roles as Manager and/or (Assistant) Director (m/f/d) to join our growing Tax team in Switzerland. These roles offer an exciting opportunity for professionals with a solid foundation in tax to take over responsibility and develop their expertise further. These positions offer substantial growth potential within one of the fastest-expanding tax practices worldwide.

What will you be doing?

Coming in as a Manager or (Assistant) Director (m/f/d) you will have the opportunity to navigate complex tax matters as our clients expand their M&A operations, reorganize portfolio companies and/or work through cross-border restructurings.

As part of your journey, you will be leading a number of high quality projects that could include the following:

Provide advanced analyses and strategic advice on complex or controversial tax issues, translating these into actionable and practical solutions
Leading buy-side and sell-side transaction tax projects (i.e. create tax due diligence reports, transaction structuring reports and file tax rulings with Swiss tax authorities)
Take an active role in cross-border transactions, working closely with clients and tax authorities (including tax rulings and / or negotiations with authorities on various tax matters)
Engaging with Swiss-based and international GTT Projects
Leading projects aimed at improving tax compliance and efficiency

Coming into the team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate and work with various service lines and subject-matter specialists in fields such as indirect tax, transfer pricing and management incentive programs. This will allow you to deepen and broaden your tax skillset while having the opportunity to specialize over time (and the more senior you are).

As a Manager or (Assistant) Director (m/f/d), you will take on a leadership position, guiding and mentoring more junior colleagues on their path to becoming Swiss certified tax experts and beyond. In addition, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership, contributing to strategic decisions across business development, client pitches, and marketing initiatives, making a real impact with your ideas and insights.

At best you already have the following qualifications:

At least 4-5 years of relevant work experience in tax advisory, gained from a leading tax consultancy (for Manager; correspondingly more for Assistant Director / Director). Preferably with a focus on transaction tax (M&A), but this is not a must.
You have successfully passed the Swiss certified tax expert exam (diplomierte/r Steuerexpertin/Steuerexperte) and ideally bring at least one year of experience in a Manager role (or above), demonstrating your ability to lead projects and drive client relationships.
A solid understanding of (complex & controversial) GTT tax concepts and their practical application to resolve client-specific challenges.
Exemplary leadership skills: You enjoy managing more junior team members and contributing to their education by mentoring them. You feel passionate about developing people on all stages of their career.
Detail-oriented with good organizational and analytical skills.
Strong motivation for continuous learning and professional growth in Tax advisory.
Entrepreneurial and client-focused mindset, supporting our rapidly growing tax practice.
Strong communication skills in German and English, with the ability to present complex matters clearly.
