The Strategy team for our IPB businesses leads the formulation, execution and communication of the strategic direction and supports the regional leadership team in this respect for the global IPB business. The team plays a crucial role in business development activities, partners with other areas of IPB to ensure effective strategy execution and provides ongoing commercial advice.

Our global strategy in Deutsche Bank International Private Bank is focused on serving U/HNW WM clients across over 70 markets, serving entrepreneurial clients private and business needs via the ‘Bank for Entrepreneurs’ proposition and providing premium banking solutions for European affluent clients.

We are uniquely positioned to fulfil these clients’ needs for a Europe-based private bank with global booking capabilities that can provide access to a leading corporate bank and deliver solutions from a top-tier investment bank including leading foreign exchange and fixed-income capabilities.

Selected responsibilities of the Strategy team include:

  • Development of IPB global and IPB EMEA strategy (in close collaboration with market and product teams) and ongoing re-alignment to changing environmental factors and/or internal changes

  • Definition of insights on key WM / PB market themes and how these could be relevant for our clients, products and operations

  • Assess IPB performance against key competitors across region / segment

  • Mergers and acquisitions and market scan on growth opportunities

  • Strategic planning and definition of targets in collaboration with Regional CFO

  • Regular impartial commercial advice to regional and market heads

  • Support to Core Leadership Councils in the resolution of critical strategic issues on an ad hoc basis

  • Preparation of senior management meetings such as within DB Group, DB IPB and with key external stakeholders (e.g., regulators)

The role:

The role will report to the Head of IPB Strategy & Marketing (ExCo member) and will be instrumental in supporting the execution of Strategy team’s mandate across a number of areas.

The role provides support for the day to day workflow across a portfolio of activities including: company research, quantitative analysis, company valuation analysis and financial modelling as well as process and project management. The role will take ownership of specific strategic projects. These services are provided to assist the organisation in achieving the intended outputs and outcomes of relevant strategic initiatives and programmes.

More specifically, selected responsibilities include:

  • Management of strategic projects and initiatives

  • Support the coordination of stakeholders and project activities and be the local point person for the regional leadership team

  • Development of new content and commercial insights

  • Preparation of presentations and other material for senior management communication

  • Together with the team conduct research and elaboration of relevant information, analysis, data management and modelling to support decision making and execution of key strategic initiatives

Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of previous experience in wealth management, investment banking, consulting, strategy, change management or business development in the financial services industry

  • Proven ability to work with stakeholders at all levels of seniority and effectively engage in discussions with senior management

  • Capacity to collaborate with and coordinate teams across functions and countries

  • Highly flexible and adaptable to manage a multi-faceted role with changing priorities and tasks that are complex, unpredictable and time-sensitive

  • Passion for quality and efficiency, “can-do” attitude and ability to work independently

  • Intellectually curious and able to learn fast

  • High level of personal initiative and commitment

  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to independently develop and manage complex models. Strong knowledge of Excel required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to support preparation of presentations for a senior audience. Strong knowledge of Power Point required

  • `Bachelor’s degree or above from top-tier university with excellent academic track record.
    Master’s degree preferred
