The Position

In service of the Pharma Vision, Global Product Strategy (GPS) plays a unique role in shaping the future of Roche by setting strategic guidance that delivers value across the portfolio, co-creating customer-centric solutions that advance patient care, acting as catalysts for ‘One Roche’, and integrating all parts of our business together to benefit patients, healthcare systems and bring value to societies around the world. Part of the GPS Advanced Analytics for Business Insights (AABI) group, the Forecasting & Decision Analysis team is dedicated to enabling the broader organization, including Global Functions and Affiliates, to develop strategic and operational forecasts that optimally support decision-making and planning. We provide support to molecules from late stage development throughout their entire lifecycle in partnership with other analytical and insights teams.

We are currently looking for a Forecasting & Decision Analysis Manager to join our team. In this role your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic forecasting: supporting global stakeholders, including Integrated Insights Leaders, iSquads and Lifecycle teams in the development of strategic, probabilistic long-term patient-based forecasts to support a wide range of strategic decisions

  • Affiliate forecasting: supporting Affiliates forecasting activities by developing and maintaining forecasting tools and providing guidance and training

  • Mature products forecasting: analyzing historical trends in mature product performance, including sales, demand and price, and engaging with global stakeholders and Affiliates to qualify and quantify future market events

  • Corporate planning: supporting financial planning submissions (e.g., Business Plan, Mid-Term Outlook), Pharma portfolio analysis and the sharing of global forecasts with other relevant functions

  • Transformation: contributing to the continued optimization of the Pharma forecasting ecosystem and to the deployment of new technology and big data for better forecasting

Key qualifications and experience required:

  • 5-7 years of work experience in strategic consulting or other analytical experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries

  • Expertise in forecasting sales and demand of pharmaceutical products, including patient-based approaches (e.g., epidemiology and patient funnel) and time-series forecasting based on historical data and other extrapolation methods

  • A passion for the delivery of analytics in the context of strategic decision-making

  • Strong business acumen and a functional understanding of product development and commercialization in the pharmaceutical industry, including lifecycle development, market access, pricing, new product launch, capacity planning, supply chain etc.

  • Proven effectiveness communicating and engaging partners, stakeholders and influencers across organizational levels

  • Proven track record as an independent self-starter with critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills

Basel is the preferred location for this position, however we are open to location agnostic talent in countries with a time zone compatible with Central European Time (+/-3hrs) working hours.
